The Denver Broncos (6-2) are set to go on the road to face the Houston Texans (3-4) in Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, Nov. 2. A third Fairbairn field goal gives Houston a 9-7 lead over the Broncos.
The Texans' offensive game plan certainly took a hit the second that star quarterback C.J. Stroud was ruled out with a concussion, effectively elevating backup Davis Mills to take those snaps at the very end of the game, where he couldn't quite get the momentum– both on the final drive, and in the fourth quarter as a whole.
Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain ( pec ), tight end Nate Adkins ( knee ) and wide receiver Marvin Mims ( concussion protocol ), P.J. Locke (neck), running back Jaleel McLaughlin and defensive linemen Sai'vion Jones and Jordan Jackson.
The Texans struggled on offense without C.J. Stroud, but defensive players stepped up in the locker room and accepted the blame for not stopping Bo Nix when they had to get a stop.
The Denver Broncos went on the road to take on the Houston Texans and walked out with their sixth straight win. It was a tough, low-scoring, defensive battle, but the Broncos made just enough plays to win 18-15.
Bo Nix threw two touchdown passes and Wil Lutz made a 34-yard field goal as time expired and the Denver Broncos rallied to beat the Houston Texans 18-15 to extend their winning streak to six games.
The Broncos defeated the Texans when Wil Lutz kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired. Denver's now 7-2. After stalling near midfield, the Broncos punted and Houston took over at its own 13-yard line with 1:14 remaining in the game. Denver promptly forced a three-and-out, and the Broncos will now get the ball back.
C.J. Stroud was the first name to go down for the Texans with an injury against the Broncos, with a scary head injury at the top of the fourth quarter. He, along with his right tackle Howard, now sit in the concussion protocol that leaves Houston's offense a bit hobbled for the time being.
