After LSU’s loss to Vanderbilt, Brian Kelly said the Tigers need to bounce back quickly and play mistake-free football to turn their season around.

LSU suffered its second loss of the season. It fell 31-24 at Vanderbilt Saturday in Week 8 of the 2025 college football season. In a back-and-forth first half, LSU scored a touchdown and two field goals but the Commodores went into the break with a 17-13 lead.

Vanderbilt, traditional Southeastern Conference cellar dweller, a team that had beaten LSU once in 15 tries since 1976, took a knee or could have beaten the Tigers by two touchdowns if it wanted. It was the smart play.
