The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back for another Talladega race. Those teams are scheduled to load into the garage at sunrise Friday. Qualifying is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET Saturday morning and will air on The CW App and The CW’s website. Some affiliates may also air the session, but make sure to check your local listings.

TV/RADIO: NBC and Peacock will broadcast the race starting with Countdown to Green at 1:30 p.m. ( click here for information on signing up for Peacock ). ... Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will have radio coverage.

After issues late at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, William Byron (-15) and Chase Elliott (-23) enter Talladega in search of solid runs. Alex Bowman also heads to Alabama in search of his first drafting track victory having already scored two runner-up results in his career.

Similarly, the Cup Series opens the Round of 8 with the South Point 400 on Oct. 12. The final eight consists of three Hendrick drivers, three Joe Gibbs Racing drivers and two Penske drivers. Josh Berry claimed the victory in the spring Vegas race, his first career Cup win.

Before the NHRA brass get too excited about their TV-ratings coup this past weekend—following the sport’s largest audience in September from the US Nationals—they need to recognize the nuances of it.
