Using cost of living data from the nonprofift think tank Economic Policy Institute, 24/7 Wall St. estimated the cost of living in Palm Desert and over 29,000 other cities and towns in the US.

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens occupies 80 acres of a near 1,100-acre site that straddles the cities of Palm Desert and Indian Wells. The entrance is in Palm Desert, at 47-900 Portola Ave.
