A GoFundMe has been launched to help the relatives of eight family members, including a pregnant woman, who were killed in a fiery crash on I-85 in Jackson County after a semi-truck slammed into their car.

Officials said the eight individuals were in a Dodge minivan that was rear-ended by a tanker semi-truck on Monday, Oct. 13. They were all from the same family.

Two cats from Furkids Animal Rescue remain missing after a deadly six-vehicle crash on I-85 in Jackson County that destroyed the shelter’s transport van and injured its driver.

Morticia was among nearly 40 cats in a Furkids van involved in the accident, which left an entire family of eight in a different vehicle dead.

Officials said that all eight people that died were inside of a Dodge minivan that was rear-ended by a tanker semi-truck that was following too close.

Seven people were killed in a multiple vehicle crash on I-85 in Jackson County, according to Georgia State Patrol.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the six-vehicle collision happened near mile marker 147, just south of the Commerce Outlets in Jackson County. Troopers say a tractor-trailer following too closely struck the rear of a Dodge van, causing it to catch fire. All seven people inside the van were killed.

Jackson County took a 3-1 win over Glynn Academy on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the Class 5A playoffs. The Lady Panthers (18-9) won the series 2-to-1 after the two teams’ split the first two games on Monday.
