What's the read/write speed on that CF card, and how does it compare to a hard drive?<br><br>You might split the difference and instead get a small 2.5", 4200RPM laptop drive and an adaptor.

The S400 does use FAT. The technical limitation is 2GB. To my knowledge, CF Type I cards currently only go up to 1GB, and those are pretty damned expensive.
