BMW's N20 engine may not have been the most powerful its ever made, but it sure had a lot of life. Here are all the places it showed up over the years.

At 240 hp, the N20 develops 10 hp more than BMW's 3.0-liter inline-six in North America. It is terrifically refined and always feels urgent, with 260 lb-ft of torque on tap at 1,250 rpm.

A subsidiary of BMW's China JV partner Brilliance has started local assembly of BMW's N20 4-cylinder turbocharged engines.
