Park House in St Austell has long been a local landmark, complete with 11 floors and 67 flats. But the high-rise is one of many buildings in Cornwall battered by Storm Goretti, which brought winds of over 100mph to the south west in recent days.

More than 40,000 properties were without power across Cornwall after Storm Goretti brought powerful winds with gusts exceeding 100mph. The current map presented by National Grid is showing more than 100 locations affected with hundreds of homes in each area without power.

A man has been found dead after a tree fell onto a caravan in Cornwall during Storm Goretti. Devon and Cornwall Police said emergency services were called at around 7.35pm on Thursday to the Mawgan area of Helston where work took place on Friday to remove the tree. A man in his 50s was found dead within the vehicle.
