Eligible men will soon be automatically registered into the U.S. military draft pool, according to the federal agency that oversees the system.

In the past, eligible men have had to self-register for the draft by law. A change will make it so they are automatically registered.

Registration with the Selective Service System has been mandatory for decades, however the US military draft will soon become an automatic registration process by the federal government for young men.
