Using Transit Gateway, organizations can enable connectivity between different VPCs across different AWS accounts and on-premises via AWS Direct Connect or VPN.

The new Direct Connect Gateway service allows private connections to AWS to extend across cloud regions, avoiding complex and expensive bespoke connectivity solutions.

At launch, AWS offers 108 Direct Connect locations in 32 countries across the Americas, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.

With a single physical connection, customers can use the new Direct Connect Gateway feature to establish connectivity to their Amazon VPCs spread across multiple AWS Regions.
