Wordle is a word puzzle that gives players six chances to guess a five-letter word. Originally created by software engineer Josh Wardle and released to the public in 2021, the puzzle was acquired by The New York Times in 2022 after rising to huge popularity.

The rules of Wordle are simple: you must guess a five-letter word within six tries. After each guess, the tiles change colour to provide feedback — green means the letter is in the correct spot, yellow indicates it's in the word but in the wrong place, and grey means it’s not in the word at all.
