MADISON, Wis. – A five-day break without a game wasn’t enough rest for Michigan State to show up in the first half. The No. 10 Spartans dug an 18-point deficit early and were thumped 92-71 by Wisconsin at the Kohl Center on Friday night.
Michigan State basketball got blitzed on Friday night, dropping a game to the Badgers, 92-71. As the score indicated, it was not a pretty effort for the Spartans, and Tom Izzo made everyone aware of it. The win was Wisconsin's second road victory over a top-10 team this season. The Spartans took the lead in the second half, but the Wolverines steaded themselves to beat their in-state rival. Jeremy Fears Jr. inspired the Spartans' road comeback and finished with a season-high 29 points and nine assists.
