Ohio State took to X to remind fans that Meyer was announced as a part of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame class back in January, joining notable names such as former Alabama coach Nick Saban, former Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick and former Texas Southern defensive lineman Michael Strahan.
Hartline, a former NFL wide receiver with seven seasons of playing experience with the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns, returned to his alma mater in 2017 while Meyer was still Ohio State's coach. He started as a quality control assistant and has steadily risen up the ranks in Columbus in the years since.
Urban Meyer has not coached in college football since he retired from coaching Ohio State in 2018. Meyer had a brief stint in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021, but lasted 13 games before being fired after going 2-11.
