Nintendo is killing off My Nintendo Gold Points before the Switch 2 launches, ending one of its best rewards programs.

Of course, Nintendo discounting Gold Points isn’t necessarily all bad news. It is rumored that the highly-anticipated Switch 2 is coming later this year. A likely comprehensive Nintendo Direct on April 2 about the next steps for the console may even outline a release date.

Nintendo has announced it will discontinue its Gold Points scheme across the Switch eShop and official Nintendo website.

We know the Nintendo Switch 2 is coming later this year, but we still don’t know when the actual release date will be. There’s a Switch 2-centric Nintendo Direct on April 2, but that’s all we know for sure right now.
