When the 2024 NFL season started, the New York Jets had 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers at quarterback and 32-year-old C.J. Mosley at middle linebacker. When the 2025 campaign kicks off the Jets will have 26-year-old Justin Fields at quarterback and 25-year-old Jamien Sherwood at middle linebacker.

ESPN sees the New York Jets keeping their focus on the dirty areas of the field early on in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft. In a full-length mock draft the spans all 257 selections, the top three for the Jets include selections 7, 42 and 73. Of those three, the first pair sees New York dip into the pool of players that line up in the trenches.

Fields has only just agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the New York Jets. His journey is the pros began as the No. 11 overall selection by the Chicago Bears at the 2011 NFL draft... and his time there was pretty up-and-down.
