MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired guard Ayo Dosunmu from the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, adding a proven scorer to bolster their depth for the stretch run in the stacked Western Conference playoffs race.
The Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly tried to gauge the Hornets' interest in parting ways with their star guard, LaMelo Ball.
The Bulls and Timberwolves completed one of the more substantial deals of the week. Minnesota is acquiring guard Ayo Dosunmu and forward Julian Phillips, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
NBA insider Chris Haynes revealed that Minnesota pursued another All-Star option after stepping away from Antetokounmpo talks. According to Haynes, the Timberwolves explored the possibility of trading for Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball, checking in with Charlotte to see if a deal could materialize.
