The $20 million reason White Sox plan to keep Luis Robert Jr. and not trade him to Mets
In both 2026 and 2027, Robert has a team option on his deal. Both are worth $20 million. That means the White Sox can activate those options and pay Robert $20 million to play for them in 2026, and potentially another $20 million to play for them in 2027.
The New York Mets passed on Luis Robert Jr. and chose to instead acquire Cedric Mullins in a deal with the Baltimore Orioles.
