Kirby Air Riders will release on the Switch 2 some time in 2025, though likely after the console itself arrives on June 5th. It’s part of a wave of GameCube throwbacks in the Switch 2 launch event, including the arrival of GameCube titles on Nintendo Switch Online and the launch of a wireless GameCube controller that’s compatible with the Switch 2.

The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct has officially come and gone, leaving in its wake some big news about the system and its upcoming games. One of arguably the cutest announcements came courtesy of Kirby Air Riders,

Mario Kart World wasn’t the only racing game announced for Switch 2 during today. Near the end of the lengthy Direct, Nintendo also revealed Kirby Air Riders. The sequel to the 2003 GameCube cult classic won’t be a launch title for the Switch 2, but it is still set to release before the end of the year.
