The timing of J.T. Miller's trade was a little bit odd. Miller was dealt from the Vancouver Canucks to the New York Rangers just a couple weeks before the 4 Nations Face-Off. Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin made clear that this upcoming tournament had nothing to do with the timing of the Miller trade.

The New York Rangers are not finished reshaping their roster after acquiring J.T. Miller, according to The New York Post’s Larry Brooks. With $9.6 million in current cap space available ahead of the March 7 trade deadline, according to PuckPedia, Brooks expects general manager Chris Drury to continue making moves.

Miller’s teammates have praised his leadership and ability to communicate on the bench and on the ice. Coach Peter Laviolette highlighted how Miller drove to the net with the Rangers trailing the Golden Knights 2-1 early in the third period Sunday and liked how he “just got into some scuffles and just mixed it up. We needed more of that.”
