A budding partnership between OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and legendary iPhone designer Jony Ive to develop a new artificial intelligence hardware product has hit a legal snag after a federal judge ruled they must temporarily stop marketing the new venture.

OpenAI removed news of its deal with Jony Ive's io from its website on Sunday amid a trademark suit filed by iyO, another AI hardware company.

OpenAI has removed all mentions of Jony Ive's startup "io" from its website and social media pages. The scrub follows a court order prompted by a trademark complaint from iyO, a hearing device startup that graduated from Alphabet’s X moonshot lab.
