A major investigation is underway into the fatal assault of a father outside his north Dublin home just after midnight.The man, aged in his 60s, is thought to have been stabbed and officers are investigating if the attack is linked to a local row.

A MURDER INVESTIGATION has been launched following the fatal assault of a man in his 60s in Finglas, Dublin, overnight.The dead man has been named locally as Josh Fowler, 60, and it is understood he was stabbed in an incident at a house in Dunsink Green shortly before 12.

The man, who was 63, died outside a house in Dunsink Green and it is understood he was stabbed in the front garden.

The man was treated at the scene and subsequently pronounced dead at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.
