Appearing on ESPN Thursday, insider Shams Charania offered just such an alternate scenario. He revealed that the Knicks made an offer for Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant at the trade deadline in February.

The New York Knicks, after losing in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Indiana Pacers, have been linked to Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, on Thursday, ESPN insider Shams Charania reported that the Knicks tried to add Durant in the middle of the season.

The Suns should ask for those draft picks for Durant. As far as players, landing Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. in a trade would give the Suns two Day 1 starters to pair up with Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and a big man.
