Elon Musk threatened to sue Apple for favoring ChatGPT over Grok in the App Store — and now he has. On Monday, Musk's AI company xAI officially filed a lawsuit against Apple as well as ChatGPT creator OpenAI over the two companies' business partnership.

Elon Musk-owned xAI on Monday sued tech giants Apple and OpenAI over an alleged scheme to illegally dominate the artificial intelligence industry through a collaboration that equipped iPhones with AI tools.

The complaint filed in federal court in Texas contends the companies' partnership is designed to ensure "their continued dominance" in artificial intelligence.
