Flights could be affected over the festive season at Scotland's busiest airport due to strike action. North Air fuel tanker drivers based at Edinburgh Airport are planning to walk out for almost three weeks in a dispute over pay. The industrial action led by Unite union will begin at 5am on 18 December and end at 4.59am on 6 January.

A wave of transport strikes look set to disrupt Christmas travel plans across Europe, with multiple walkouts threatening chaos for millions of passengers during one of the busiest periods of the year.

North Air fuel tanker drivers at Edinburgh Airport will strike over the Christmas season in a pay row which could affect flights. Tanker drivers from the plane-fuelling company at the airport will strike for 19 days from 18 December to 6 January, Unite the Union announced.

The Unite union says some long haul flights from Edinburgh could be disrupted unless North Air comes back with a better offer.

Passengers flying to and from Edinburgh Airport over the festive period face “widespread travel disruption”, union leaders claim, after air fuel tanker drivers announced strike action in a dispute over pay.
