KL Rahul joined Delhi Capitals for Rs 14 crore in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. He was expected to breach the 20-crore mark like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer but that didn't happen. Rahul was part of Lucknow Super Giants from IPL 2022 to 2024.

Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has said that KL Rahul told him that he wants to win the IPL with the franchise. Jindal said that KL Rahul wants love and respect from the management and the fans.
