The Republican congressman representing Georgia's coast announced Thursday that he's running for U.S. Senate. In the early days of his candidacy, he worked to closely align himself with President Donald Trump and repeatedly referred to himself as a "MAGA warrior."

Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter has positioned himself to be the first Republican challenger against Sen. Jon Ossoff in the upcoming Senate race. Carter has represented Georgia's first congressional district since 2015.

The resolution would remove Watson Coleman from Appropriations, Menendez from Energy and Commerce, and McIver from Homeland Security and Small Business.
